Haystack Fellowship

The Summer 2023 Haystack Fellowship for students of color at Columbia College Chicago NOW OPEN!

About the Program

Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Maine is offering two opportunities for Columbia College students of color to be awarded fellowships for one of six sessions during summer workshops. Workshops will be held in one- and two-week sessions throughout June to August. The goal of the fellowship program is to offer students opportunities for exposure to national and international communities of learning and making beyond Columbia College and the Chicago area to augment their studies and gain professional experience within the greater arts community-at-large.

Students of color are defined as having Black, Latinx, Asian, Middle Eastern, Northern African or Native American ancestry. LGBTQIA students of color are encouraged to apply.

The fellowship includes: a fully funded placement in one of six workshops that takes place between June 11th and August 27th, a $500 travel reimbursement offered by Haystack; and $100 towards shop fees and materials supported by Columbia College. Housing and all meals are included.
