NOT a violation
- The following platforms do NOT constitute a violation and may even be recommended as good practice by Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) or other offices on campus: MSWord grammar check, Grammerly, and other grammar correction software. These pieces of grammar software are especially beneficial for International Students, first generation students, and students for whom academic writing is a challenge. If you have questions please do not hesitate to reach out to SSD.
- Please be aware that AI detection tools are biased against students who do not speak English as their first language, falsely accusing them of cheating.
Violation
- See the section on College Policies and ensure that your students clearly understand your policy. Different faculty members may have different policies, but most importantly, you must have a posted policy that you should briefly identify to students in class.
- If they appear to be in violation please follow the procedures in the Academic Integrity Policy.
