Faculty Development Resources
The purpose of this portion of the Faculty Development Portfolio website is to provide a range of resources and information relevant to the work and life of an academic in the 21st Century. The first three sections-- Pedagogy & Praxis, Creative & Scholarly Endeavor, Service and Academic Administration—correspond to the three areas in which faculty are evaluated. These three sections are a work in progress. We intend to create an ever-expanding series of modules and a set of curated resources on a range of topics. Each module is to provide a brief overview description of what may be at stake, as well as a short statement regarding the currency and relevance of the topic as it relates to the larger frame of being an academic in the 21st century.
The goal is for this part of the Faculty Development Portfolio to be an ever-expanding aspect of this website and to be a location where faculty and staff may contribute content in which they have expertise. If you have interest in writing a module for the 21st Century Academic, please contact Ames Hawkins (firstname.lastname@example.org) for details.
In addition, we have collaborated with the Dean of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Academic Technology, the Library, and the Institutional Review Board of Columbia College Chicago to try and create a one-stop-shopping experience regarding information about other services and committees that support our pedagogical and professional needs as faculty members.
