Jeanne Petrolle, Ph.D. is acting dean of faculty affairs at Columbia College Chicago. In her role as acting dean, Petrolle supervises the orientation, professional development, and evaluation of Columbia College Faculty. She provides leadership and oversight for all processes that affect faculty, seeking full compliance with and continuous improvement of all college policies involving faculty.

Prior to her current leadership role, Petrolle served as Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs, Interim Chair of the former English and Creative Writing Department (now integrated into the School of Communication and Culture), and in numerous other department and college-wide leadership roles.

As a scholar, essayist, podcaster, and YouTuber, Petrolle focuses on transdisciplinary analysis of religion, literature, and culture. She has published three books and numerous articles appearing in such journals as Religion and Literature, Literature and Theology, and Image: A Journal of Art and Religion. Her podcast Wild Olive brings listeners “game-changing conversation about religion, literature, and culture.”

Petrolle holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Illinois-Chicago, an M.A. in English from Southern Connecticut University, and a B.A. in English from Southern Connecticut State University.
