Current Assessment Activities

As part of their commitment to pay attention to student learning and progress in their programs, all eight of the Schools are expected to assess their courses and program outcomes on a regular basis. One of the key features of the assessment approach at Columbia is the inclusion of the assessment participants' answers to three questions:

  1. What surprised you about the results?
  2. What did not surprise you about the results?
  3. What implications do the results have for curriculum and pedagogy.

These responses work to serve as the basis for actions due to the assessment process (the "so what?".

Below are examples of the most recent assessment activities.
