Faculty Senate currently has 35 seats. Senators represent either their department or their school and are elected each spring. Each senator is assigned to serve on a standing committee of the Senate. All full-time faculty are eligible for membership on the Faculty Senate.
There is a minimum of one senator from each of 16 academic units, with a second departmental senator representing those units with more than 19 full time faculty. There are also four school-wide, at-large senators from Fine and Performing Arts, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Media Arts, and one senator from the School of Graduate Studies.
