Current Partnerships and Initiatives

Transferring between institutions is more common than ever, and Columbia is dedicated to making the process transparent through our collaborations. We use the searchable online database transferology.com to display all courses that have been articulated, and offer an unofficial transcript evaluation prior to transfer application. This transparency extends to creating transfer guides to aid our future transfer students in selecting the best courses at their current community college and outlines the courses they will take at Columbia with the goal of graduating within four years.

Guaranteed Admission
Columbia is excited to announce guaranteed admission to our bachelor of arts degree programs for students transferring from the following community colleges:

To discuss expanding guaranteed admission to your institution, please contact Associate Provost for Transfer Initiatives and Academic Partnerships Holly Herrera at hherrera@colum.edu or 312-369-6499.

Reverse Transfer
Many community college students transfer before earning their associate's degree. Research tells us that those who earn their associate degree are more likely to earn the baccalaureate. But we also know how important that credential is for students in their career path. With the state of Illinois and our public institution colleagues, Columbia will begin the reverse transfer of credit for qualifying transfer students during the 2020-2021 academic year. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
